Roles and Responsibilities of Advisors
  1. Ensuring that the Executive Team is effectively fulfilling its designated roles and responsibilities.
  2. Providing guidance to the Executive Team through advice, support, and connections.
  3. Reviewing the weekly notes submitted by the Secretary to keep up with AYC initiatives and to ensure the organization is running smoothly.
  4. To maintain the authority of the Constitution.
  5. Approve or disapprove events, initiatives, and committees.
  6. Appoint and interview officers.
  7. Provide connections and opportunities to AYC members.
Board of Advisors / Founders
  • Ellen Vartanyan
    Sophomore at Pasadena City College Studying Political Science
    Over the summer, Ellen interned with the Armenian Assembly of America in DC where she advocated for Armenian issues in Capitol Hill and conducted research on international right of return mechanisms. Additionally, she interned at the Osgood Center for International Studies, where she drafted policy briefs, attended congressional hearings and think-tank seminars, and engaged with key political actors.

    Within the Armenian community, Ellen often MCs and recited poetry at scholarship, fundraising, or cultural events and ceremonies. She used to be an Armenian language teacher's assistant at Petag Saturday School, and is currently an English tutor with the Hidden Road Initiative.
  • Tigran Poghosyan
    Sophomore at the University of California, Los Angeles, Studying Political Science.
    Tigran Poghosyan is a UCLA Political Science student dedicated to advancing policy, law, and government initiatives through hands-on experience in legislative offices, advocacy organizations, and grassroots efforts.

    He has contributed to the California State Assembly in the district office of Assembly member Jesse Gabriel, the Armenian Assembly, and the ANCA Summer Academy, gaining direct exposure to policymaking, civic engagement, and community outreach. As Secretary of the Yeraz Foundation and Treasurer of the All-Armenian Student Association (All-ASA), he has coordinated large-scale events and led fundraising campaigns. With strong skills in policy analysis, advocacy, fundraising, and government relations. Tigran is committed to leveraging education and community action to empower underserved populations and strengthen civic engagement.
  • Nensi Hayotsyan
    Sophomore at Stanford University, Studying Political Science
    Being born and raised in Armenia, Nensi has always been dedicated to the Armenian cause. Whether through volunteering with the Yeraz Foundation and numerous nonprofit organizations, engaging in advocacy work in the country’s capital, or contributing to wider philanthropic efforts, she has consistently sought to amplify Armenian voices and support her community at home and abroad.

    This past summer, she worked alongside Siranush Sahakyan, a leading international lawyer in Armenia who plays a central role in representing Armenian POWs and advancing human rights on the global stage. In addition, Nensi volunteered with the Hidden Road Initiative camp, where she taught diplomacy and collaborated with more than 80 children from villages across Armenia, creating an environment that encouraged learning, connection, and growth. Together, these experiences have strengthened her commitment to empowering the next generation of Armenian youth and ensuring they are equipped to lead their communities forward
